Board of Directors – KRFC 88.9 FM
LISTEN LIVE

JAMES YEARLING – PRESIDENT

James has served as KRFC’s board president since 2019 and continues to be inspired by the successes of the station! He is an award-winning and internationally recognized event producer and communications professional with over 20 years of experience working with and for nonprofit boards of directors. As the general manager of Rockfan Entertainment here in Fort Collins, he oversees live concert productions at venues ranging from the world famous Red Rocks amphitheater to events just like today. At Rockfan, he enjoys working with clients such as the NFL’s Denver Broncos and the NBA’s Denver Nuggets, especially since he topped out at 5′ 5″ in 7th grade and has long given up his dream of being a pro basketball player! He still has hope that his 7-year-old daughter, Lucille, may hit at least 5’ 5” herself and perhaps carry on that basketball dream. If not, at least his loving wife agreed to let him name their daughter after B.B. King’s guitar!

RILEY PHIPPS – VICE PRESIDENT

As Music Programs Project Manager at Bohemian Foundation and 20 year Fort Collins resident, Riley brings a passion for community and music and relishes the way in which the two directly foster one another. Riley has a high regard for all aspects of health and life and thoroughly appreciates the role music and community play in our overall well-being. Of course, the thing he will always cherish the most is his family that includes his wife, Melinda, two little girls, Ruby Emmalene and Clara Esme, and their dog, Georgia.

ROB GRAY – TREASURER

Rob Gray and his wife Helen have lived in Fort Collins for nearly 45 years.  They have two married daughters and two granddaughters. Rob graduated from the South Dakota School of Mines in 1975 with a degree in Chemical Engineering and moved to Fort Collins to work for Eastman Kodak.   He received his MBA from CSU in 1984.  Rob held many leadership positions at Kodak during his 35 year career and eventually became Vice President of Consumer Digital Imaging and Manager of the Windsor, Colorado and Manaus, Brazil manufacturing sites.

After retiring from Kodak, Rob taught management and business classes for 8 years at the Montfort College of Business at UNC.

Fred Jacobs – BOARD MEMBER

As an alumni of Colorado State University, Fred jumped at the chance to return to the Fort Collins area 20 years ago. A lifelong marketer, Fred has worked in the retail, gaming and, most recently, financial services sectors. A live music fan, Fred not only enjoys attending area shows but has spent much of his career partnering with music-focused events and organizations in the area, organically connecting businesses with these events along the way. Fred is looking forward to digging deeper into the local music scene with the wonderfully eclectic programming of KRFC 88.9 FM Radio Fort Collins (cold local microbrew firmly in hand)

Ross Thompson – BOARD MEMBER

Ross retired in November of 2020 from MidFirst Bank after a forty year career in Personal Trust Administration.  During his trust banking career he managed two Trust Departments in Denver.  Upon retirement, he relocated to Fort Collins to enjoy the growing music scene in Northern Colorado and further grow his life long relationship with CSU.  His love of music began at an early age and he is always looking for new and upcoming musicians.  As a graduate of CSU in 1978, his involvement with the university runs deep.  His goal for the future is to get further involved in the local community and help as many organizations and people as possible.  His key attributes are open communication, team building and decision making and he is looking forward to sharing all of them with KRFC.

Nina Bodenhamer – Board Member

Nina Bodenhamer serves as the Director of City Give, an “in house” approach to municipal philanthropy that allows the City of Fort Collins to respond to strategic projects and community needs that fall outside the normal city budget priorities but are well-positioned for private funding.

As an independent consultant, national clients have included Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), Scholastic Entertainment, and the George Lucas Educational Foundation.
