Dame JaCkie Erickson's Creative Catalyst Award

The Creative Catalyst Award recognizes a local artist, musician, or creative who sparks connection, inspires collaboration, and helps move Northern Colorado’s creative community forward. This award celebrates individuals who use their voice, vision, and creativity to uplift others, amplify local culture, and strengthen our region through meaningful artistic impact.

Recipients of this award receive a $500 grant from Dame JaCkie Erickson and KRFC, two social media posts highlighting them as the Creative Catalyst of the month, a drop-in on air, and their work displayed at a local business (if applicable).

Leah Casper

January 2026

L. Casper was recognized for her deep commitment to community-centered art and her perseverance as an independent musician. With over twenty years of songwriting, she leads L. Casper & The LuneAtics, a project dedicated to creating music rooted in connection, healing, and shared experience. Her 2026 release series pairs professionally recorded singles with The LuneAtics Lounge, an intimate creative salon that brings Northern Colorado artists together for conversation, collaboration, and live performance. Through her work, L. Casper continues to strengthen the local arts ecosystem and foster spaces where artists and audiences feel seen, heard, and uplifted.

Rhonda Merrick

March 2026

Rhonda Merrick was recognized for her ability to connect and uplift others through creativity, serving as a true bridge-builder in the community. Through her work in media production, shaping new live sounds with Roots La Roux earlier this year, and lending her voice to the dynamic Grocery Story band, she brings people together through music and storytelling. Rhonda has a gift for helping others uncover their creative spark and bring it forward. A creative catalyst at heart, she ignites imagination, supports fellow artists, and strengthens the arts landscape around her. Through her passion and generosity of spirit, Rhonda continues to show up for the community with heart—today and for the future.
